Rareluth is a one woman fantasy-pop act created by Christine Peirce born from the swamps of South Louisiana. Rareluth’s new (and first) full length album Morph released in September 2017 is composed, performed and produced by Peirce. Performing solo, with dancers and/or musicians, the live show also utilizes synced projections to create a visual landscape that transports the viewer. After two years of touring coast to coast (22 states, 5o cities, 100+shows) she currently inhabits New Orleans.

The group originated as a friend-rock band with penchant for pop music. Experimentation with electronic instruments drew the group to danceable pop music. Prom Date was born from this synthesizer awakening. As The Rebel Agenda notes, “Louisiana’s Prom Date have an 80s aura that exceeds pastiche. Theirs is an 80s electro-pop reverence.”
After years of playing across Louisiana, the band settled in New Orleans to hone their sound. Later that summer, sessions at Magic Ranch Studios in Austin, TX became the cornerstone for their debut album Portraits. Known for energetic live shows filled with glam rock flair, Prom Date has opened for many of Louisiana’s finest, including Generationals, GIVERS, Royal Teeth, and Sweet Crude.

Matthew Wood is an Austrian pop musician, actor and artist. He was born in the 200 soul’s village Gattersdorf, deep within the mountain valleys of Austria. In 2010, Wood moved to the Ruhrpott area in Germany to confront the region with his extravagant style. His Art Pop is the inspiration of Funk, Dance and R’n’B. It is inspired by great artists like Justin Timberlake, Prince, Bowie and the Scissor Sisters and shares the ambition to charge contemporary disco music with socio-political contexts and combine the diverse forms of artistic expression (from fashion, sexuality, dance to politics and music) within this process.
Matthew Wood is currently working at the Bochum Institute for Popular Music in close collaboration with artists such as Akura Naru, Gregor Schwellenbach and Philipp Janzen (“Von Spar”) on his first album Spectrum of a Sinner, which will be released in March 10, 2018. Meanwhile he is also presenting first songs of the album at selected locations.
